Areas Fished

The boat is based in Conwy Marina and areas fished are normally within a 25 mile radius from North west to North east of this port, which includes north Anglesey and Liverpool Bay.

Types of fishing

Wreck fishing is our specialty and about 40 wrecks are fished within the area. These range from 3000 ton merchant ships to small trawlers. Depending on the species sought after we will drift or anchor. Wrecks are generally in depths between 30 and 50 metres. Species caught are pollack, ling, coalfish, conger, cod and pouting depending on the time of year.

General ground fishing takes place at anchor either inshore (within three miles of the land) or offshore, in deep water. Main species expected inshore are dabs, whiting, dogfish, gurnard, ray, tope, codling, mackerel and herring depending on the time of year. Offshore species are similar however there may be more chance of a larger ray, bullhuss or tope. Grounds fished vary from the Constable Bank to deeper water north and east of Anglesey.

Reef and bank fishing for either bass or pollack takes place around Puffin Island area on Anglesey. Live sandeel are an essential bait for which the livebait tank is used. These are specialized trips and, even more so than other fishing, bass cannot be guaranteed.
